I did it! I did it! I finally committed to creating a space for me to therapeutically play with kids.
I have worked for many years in the office buildings of other people. I have worked for many years in families' homes. During the pandemic, I transitioned my practice and made it fully virtual- meeting with kids, and teens and families via teletherapy.
Now, for the first time in what seems like forever, I have my own therapeutic space. A place where kids and teens and families can come to safely work through all the things that happen outside these walls. A place where I can have all the miniatures and legos and play-doh and fuzzy pillows I want to have. I cannot express the deep sense of joy and satisfaction I feel when people come into this space to bloom and grow again.
It is a work in progress... but I suppose that almost everything (and Everyone) is a Work In Progress. Each week it expands to hold the beauty of all the people who grace its entryway and I am simply beaming at the possibilities of its future. I did it!
